Askar Mamin, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, inspected construction progress of a ferry complex in Kuryk port (KPSP is the general designer)
First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan was briefed on the final stage of construction of start-up facilities of Kuryk Port. Askar Mamin made a working visit to Mangystau region, where he inspected construction progress of the ferry complex.
Installation of track panels on a 12 meter-long railway siding from Ersay station to the Kuryk port was completed. Track ballasting works were completed. Ground excavation in the amount of 4.3 million m³ was carried out. Also, erection of a western mole made of 400 thousand tons of rubble stone was completed. A bottom drenching of an access canal to the port area in the amount of 525 thousand m³ was completed.
10 kW external power supply lines were built. The construction of a linkspan bridge is being carried out extensively. The start-up facilities of Kuryk Port shall be commissioned before the end of this year.
"The Ferry Complex in Kuryk Port is an important member of a transport and logistic system of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. It shall boost the development of a transit transport capacity of Kazakhstan and facilitate the implementation of the New Silk Road project," Askar Mamin said.
The Ferry Complex in Kuryk Port shall handle five ferrys a day, thereby allowing cargo handling in the amount of 4 million ton per year.
